Nevada Board of Medical Examiners

The Nevada Board of Medical Examiners (BME) was established under NRS 630 to protect the public through the regulation of the practice of medicine. The Board licenses physicians (MD and DO), physician assistants, perfusionists, and respiratory care practitioners. It also issues special purpose licenses for teaching and research physicians at Nevada institutions.

The Board investigates complaints against licensees, conducts disciplinary hearings, and has authority to suspend, revoke, or impose conditions on medical licenses. With jurisdiction over some of the most critical healthcare providers in the state, the Board ensures that Nevada patients receive care from qualified, competent practitioners.
